Enrolling your child is easy with two convenient options: online or in person at your child's school. For detailed, step-by-step instructions, please visit our How to Enroll page. Whether you choose to enroll in person or online, we are here to assist you every step of the way.

Before you begin your enrollment, there are several required documents you will need to have ready. 

• Birth Certificate (bears an official embossed seal of imprint) 
  • A hospital certificate is not acceptable.
  • If you do not have a birth certificate and your child was born in Marion County, please visit the Marion County Health Department Vital Records or call 317-221-2397 for information on how to obtain a duplicate birth certificate.
  • If your child was born in Indiana (outside of Marion County), please visit Indiana State Department of Health Vital Records or call 317-233-2700 for information on how to obtain a duplicate birth certificate. 
  • If your child was born in the U.S. (outside of Indiana), contact your child's birth state or territory's vital records office. 
  • For additional assistance, please contact your child's school.
• Immunization Records
  • Indiana law requires all school-age students to present proof of required immunizations. Learn more here.
  • Immunization records may be obtained from your child's healthcare provider, the clinic or pharmacy where the immunizations were administered, or MyVaxIndiana.
  • For information on free or low-cost immunization options, visit Marion County Health Department Immunization Program or Indiana Immunization Coalition. 
• ID of Parent or Guardian 
  • Driver's License or valid state or government issued ID
• Proof of Residency (2 documents required)
  • A current gas or electric bill or any other bill related to your residence AND
  • If you own your home, the second document may be one of the following: 
    • Closing documents
    • Warranty deed
    • Current monthly mortgage payment statement (not coupon book)
    • Quit Claim Deed
    • Current year tax bill
    • Homestead Property Claim 
    • Lease to Buy contract or purchase agreement
  • If you rent, a current lease is required.

Yes, the District allows families to request a different school within the District for their child through our Intra-District Transfer process. Approval of transfer requests is subject to available space and specific circumstances.

M.S.D. of Wayne Township warmly welcomes new students who live within District boundaries throughout the school year. Although there isn't a deadline to enroll, we encourage you to enroll your child as early as possible. This helps us plan ahead to manage class sizes and staffing. It also ensures you receive important communication, such as back-to-school information, from your child's school. 

You can use our bus stop locator to find your child's assigned school. Enter your address to find your assigned school based on your grade level.

Use our Bus Stop Locator to find and verify your child's assigned school. Simply type your address in the search bar, and a list of schools will appear below. Look for the school with the appropriate grade level for your student to find your assigned school. If a list of schools doesn't appear, your address may be outside of M.S.D. of Wayne Township boundaries.

A child must be five years old on or before August 1.

If your child will be five years old between August 2 and September 30, you may request a screening for early enrollment. Early entrance requests must be submitted by July 12, 2024, to be considered for the 2024-2025 school year. Early enrollment decisions are based on the results of the kindergarten screener. Absolutely! Families who live outside of M.S.D. of Wayne Township boundaries have the opportunity to apply for Out of District enrollment. The application window typically opens in March and closes at the beginning of May. We welcome you to discover why so many families choose #WeAreWayne!

A: Yes, M.S.D. of Wayne Township High Ability programming offers a K-12 continuum of services designed to meet the needs of high ability students. These programs include the Horizons program, advanced placement, honors courses, cluster grouping, and other specialized enrichment opportunities. If you are unable to provide a valid ID, please contact your child's school. We are committed to ensuring all students have access to education, regardless of citizenship status.

Indiana law requires all school-age students to present proof of required immunizations. Learn more here. If you cannot locate your child's immunization records, here are some steps you can take: 

• Contact your child's current or past healthcare providers to request records of vaccinations administered. 
• Check with your child's previous school or daycare provider, if applicable.
• Many states, including Indiana, maintain immunization registries. Check if your child's records are in the state registry, such as such as MyVaxIndiana.
• Contact your local or state health department. They may assist in locating immunization records or provide guidance on how to proceed.
• If records cannot be found, please contact your child's school nurse to discuss next steps.

Yes, we offer Before & After School programs at various sites throughout the District.
